NIH Intro
NIH 2nd section

If you’re part of One NIH, the question is, “Who hasn’t used our GWACs?”

Since the National Institutes of Health Information Technology Acquisition and Assessment Center (NITAAC) was founded in 1996 as part of the Clinger-Cohen Act and became an executive agent of the Office of Management and Budget, the NIH has used our Government-Wide Acquisition Contracts (GWACs) across its 27 Institutes and Centers (ICs) for thousands of information technology (IT) acquisitions. In fact, as part of the federal acquisition arm of NIH, you’d be hard pressed to find an IC who hasn’t used NITAAC through one of its many contract iterations.

From complex engineering integrations to emerging technologies like cloud, simple software licenses to enterprise-wide imaging installations, there’s nothing we can’t help you with when it comes to IT products, services and solutions. In fact, you’ll find NITAAC GWACs are the ones to call for One NIH, with Contract Holders ready to support you in:

  • Fostering fundamental creative discoveries, innovative research strategies, and their applications as a basis for ultimately protecting and improving health
  • Developing, maintaining, and renewing scientific human and physical resources that will ensure the Nation’s capability to prevent disease
  • Expanding the knowledge base in medical and associated sciences in order to enhance the Nation’s economic well-being and ensure a continued high return on the public investment in research
  • Exemplifying and promoting the highest level of scientific integrity, public accountability, and social responsibility in the conduct of science

NITAAC’s three Best in Class GWACs can help you accomplish your core mission of seeking fundamental knowledge about the nature and behavior of living systems and the application of that knowledge to enhance health, lengthen life, and reduce illness and disability. In fact, a closer look at our recent history would reveal that NITAAC:

  • Already supports over $8.7 billion* in NIH obligations
  • Assisted Acquisitions Services orders are administered and awarded by Contracting Officers and specialists who were among the first to receive the new, mandatory, FAC-C Digital Services (DS) Certifications, which are now required on orders for the management of digital services over the FAR Subpart 13.500(c) commercial items threshold
  • Features many Contract Holders who already have cleared personnel, ready to support the federal government in a variety of positions that require access to sensitive information
  • CIO-SP3 and CIO-SP3 Small Business GWACs have been extended through 10/29/24. Any task orders issued can have up to a 5-year period of performance, taking clients into FY30
  • Will assure our customers always have a NITAAC contracting vehicle that accommodates their needs while CIO-SP4 is awarded and onboarded

NITAAC will do whatever it takes to assure our customers always have a NITAAC vehicle that can handle their requirements. While we hope we can avoid another extension, we are prepared to get one if circumstances dictate. Please check with us before making any comparable IT obligations.

How NITAAC has helped the NIH drive Health Information Technology.

When you look through the NIH’s Task and Delivery Orders listed here you’ll see that NITAAC has supported hundreds of health IT initiatives. Not to mention we supported the NIH throughout the pandemic, which has changed the way the medical industry treats patients. NITAAC Contract Holders remain poised to assist with the establishment of the ARPA-H and are ready to enhance Security Operations Center functions while expanding threat mitigation and incident response support capabilities. Whether you need Big Data, Cybersecurity, Cloud Computing, Mobility or Artificial Intelligence, NITAAC GWACs are the ones to call for:

  • Meeting all of your information technology needs in one place with NITAAC GWACs: CIO-SP3 and CIO-SP3 Small Business for IT Services/Solutions and CIO-CS for IT Commodities/Solutions
  • Purchasing commonly used commodities with Government-Wide Strategic Solutions (GSS), a subset of CIO-CS that meets all category management tiers and goals
  • Getting help from Assisted Acquisitions with the lowest fee (2% of total obligation)
  • Awarding Task Orders, on average, in 45 days or less; Delivery Orders, on average, in 10 days (depending on order complexity)
  • Getting free Technical Assessments on every task order, turned around in only 2 business days
  • Using NITAAC’s Electronic Government Ordering System (e-GOS) to meet Fair Opportunity requirements, order faster and more easily, and get 3-5 responses on most orders
  • Using downselects and other creative contracting methods under FAR Subpart 16.505 to streamline competition, save money and make ordering much faster and easier
