Read: Selecting the Appropriate NITAAC GWAC to Use
Use the following flowchart as a quick reference to understand which NITAAC GWAC best suits specific IT needs.
How to decide on a suitable NITAAC GWAC to use.
The above decision tree flowchart helps users to select the appropriate NITAAC GWAC based on their IT acquisition requirements. The decision tree begins with the question, "Which NITAAC GWAC should I use to meet my IT acquisition requirements?"
From this starting point, the acquisition professional can proceed with the flowchart by selecting any of the following three potential decisions about their orders:
- 100% IT Services on the far left is for orders that are exclusively focused on IT services. This leads directly to the acquisition professional using either the CIO-SP3 or CIO-SP3 Small Business GWAC.
- 100% IT Commodities on the far right directs users to CIO-CS, indicating that this contract vehicle suits purely commodity-based IT acquisitions.
- If the order consists of a mix of commodities and services, another path helps the acquisition professional to decide on the best-fit GWAC. Based on the primary focus of the order, the acquisition professional can arrive at two possible decisions by answering this question, “What percentage of commodities/services is to be acquired in the order request?”:
- Majority (Labor) Services – If the order primarily requires labor services, the acquisition professional is encouraged to use CIO-SP3 or CIO-SP3 Small Business for IT services/solutions for procuring services such as development in the cloud, software development, infrastructure, and cleared personnel.
- Majority Commodities (COTs + Supporting Services) – For orders primarily consisting of commodities, the acquisition professional is encouraged to use CIO-CS for procuring commodities such as cloud storage, hardware, software, extended warranties, training, and installations.
