Event overview:
The USDA’s South Building is the centerpiece of the headquarters complex, which also includes the USDA Jamie L. Whitten Building and the Sydney R. Yates Building. The headquarters complex houses more than 7,000 government personnel working for all 17 USDA agencies. USDA’s annual budget for information management, technology investment and cybersecurity activities is $66 million. The USDA provides leadership on food, agriculture, natural resources, rural development, nutrition, and related issues based on public policy, the best available science, and effective management. They have a vision to provide economic opportunity through innovation, helping rural America to thrive; to promote agriculture production that better nourishes Americans while also helping feed others throughout the world; and to preserve our Nation's natural resources through conservation, restored forests, improved watersheds, and healthy private working lands. The USDA’s strategic goals serve as a roadmap for the Department to help ensure we achieve our mission and implement our vision.
