An Agile approach to software or product development emphasizes team collaboration, continual planning, testing, improvement, and learning. While organizations can become more efficient by deploying Agile development, the transition to this approach comes with challenges such as culture changes and adapting to new processes and tools.

Ardent Management Consulting (Ardent), a NITAAC CIO-SP3 Contract Holder, developed a solution called the Common Microservices Initializer or CMI. CMI was developed for use by a component within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to help generate clean structured, fully functional Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines adhering to the Department’s guidelines and best practices

Geospatial environments can present a challenge to agencies whose current platforms do not allow for high level data collection, as well as adaptation of data across various platforms. Innovate! Inc, a NITAAC CIO-SP3 Small Business 8(a) Contract Holder, stepped up to this challenge. They used their geospatial integration and modernization expertise to help evolve the Environmental Protection Agency’s Fresh Water and Marine Beach Sanitary Survey Application.
